Waco, Texas Itinerary

We are headed home from a family vacation to Texas! It was so much fun. Our trip was mostly spent in Grapevine, Tx. We spent a few nights at Great Wolf Lodge and a few nights at The Gaylord Texan Resort. This resort is SO BEAUTIFUL.

We wanted to take to boys somewhere they had never been over Christmas break. Texas just seemed like the right fit for their ages. Also, they are both totally into rodeos and watching bull riding. Lately, at home they have been taking an empty laundry basket and turning it upside down in the middle of our king sized bed. One will sit on top, wrap his legs around it, and put one arm in the air while the other times his “ride”. (Insert #boymom hashtag here! 💙) We spent some time in Fort Wort, TX watching the cattle drive and a rodeo in the Cowtown Coliseum.

Can you tell they are a little ornery? 💙 Also, Cattleman’s Steakhouse by the coliseum is a great place to eat!

However, when we were planning this trip to Texas I was sure to pick a day to sneak in a visit back to Waco! This was Bryce and I’s third time back to the Silos, but the boys first visit! It amazes us how much changes each time we visit and how much the city of Waco evolves!

One thing we wanted to be sure to do was eat breakfast at Magnolia Table. We left our hotel in Grapevine at 6:30am and made the 1.5 hour drive to Waco. We arrived at the restaurant at 8am and there was only a 20 minute wait but it was packed! Rumor is if you want to eat here you must get there early cause by mid day the wait could be 2-3 hours. It was a delicious breakfast and so worth getting up early for!

Next, we hit the Silo Baking Co., Magnolia Market, & Magnolia Press. You can park near the silos for $10/ day and walk to all these stores. They are all easy to access off Webster Ave.

The cupcakes are amazing here at the Silo Baling Co. Our favorite is the vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles!

The Findery and The Findery Marketplace can also be walked to while your car is parked near the silos! I really loved these store!

Once leaving the Silos there are several other wonderful places to visit in Waco! This trip we choose to visit just a few because if you have boys you know they can only handle so much shopping!

Spice Village is Bryce and Is favorite place to shop in Waco, hands down! More handmade items and reasonable prices!

Magnolia- Little shop on Bosque is worth a stop. This is where Jo first opened up a store and where they now sell discount items!

Many businesses in Waco have murals on the side of their buildings! I particularly loved looking at them all! This one is on the side of Savage Finds Antiques & Oddities.

Although we didn’t get to visit all the places we have in the past again this trip I’ve compiled a list of the places we love most. Along with addresses and hours of operation! Bryce and I have eaten at a few different places in town. We loved George’s the best! It’s more like sports bar type food. The owner was kind enough to sit down with us on one of our trips and talked to us about how Magnolia opening up there has helped so many other businesses in the town be a success as well. A very pleasant man. The address to George’s is 1925 Speight Ave. Waco, Tx!

I hope this list helps you to have a smooth trip if you desire to visit Waco! Have a wonderful trip and eat a cupcake for me! 😜

Be Blessed, Maria ❤️
